This year I’ve been thinking a lot about honoring my legacy. What is my legacy? We have lost a couple family members this year, and I’m especially seeing how I can allow my feelings of loss to transform my view of life (& my photography) into something more present, meaningful and deep… Allowing me to be more present to the gift of life and every. little. interaction. The way the light shines in their eyes. How the children’s little hands hold onto their mother or father. The joy on the face of the parents watching their children. How the light shines through the trees and onto the grass..
& the beautiful mess of it all. It’s so beautiful. All of it. the messy. the hard. the sad. the loss. the fleeting nature of life.. I think that’s part of the reason that it is so special.. because everything is always changing.. growing.. evolving..
So what is my legacy?
This question has inspired me in many ways throughout this year (& especially now). So I reached out to another photographer friend ( Molly with M Noelle Photography) to photograph a special session centered around my grandmother. The idea was to honor my grandmother, her life, who she is, the life she’s created, all that she has gone through, and really allow her to feel seen and loved! So here’s what we created…
So I ask you… What do you want your legacy to be? How do you want to be remembered? And how can you start living today in a way that brings you into more alignment with that vision?
